Reading Counts!


Counting pictures of items, such as in a picture book, rather than physical items is a stronger way to support a child’s concept of cardinality, according to a study from the University of Chicago and the University of Notre Dame. Cardinality is the concept that the final number used to count items in a set refers to the total number of items in that set and is important to a child’s developing math skills.
